Orania is a future-oriented Afrikaner cultural community that aims to preserve the Afrikaner cultural heritage and art as well as the natural heritage. Orania is characterized by the absence of safety fences and children moving freely about in the streets.
Orania is an experience to visit, which includes an excellent combination of culture, art and nature, as well as dining at the Zebra, Oewer Restaurant combined with relaxation in a safe environment. The Orania Movement offers free town tours so "the town to city transition" can visually be seen, with associated development in all sectors, with accompanying elucidation by a tour guide.
Orania itself has several unique cultural points of interest, which include: Irish monument, the mosaic staircase, sculpture koppie of Afrikaner leaders, cultural historical monument and Verwoerd museum.
There are also several unique nature points of interest such as Ludwig Everson's Aardskip, the hyrax path, the beautiful River Park along the Orange River, with the River Restaurant and deck overlooking the Orange River with river activities, a sundowner rafting- cruise on the river.
Also, fun is not left out. Quad rides, river tube rides, raft rides as well as Gyrocopter flights are part of the fun. Then there is of course the excellent swimming pool complex for the summer.
Stokkiesdraai offers fun parks and animals for children, while mom and dad can visit the interesting shops such as Artion, the Kontreiwinkel Roelien's Jewel manufacturing and many more. The Stokkiesdraai complex offers the Zebra and Hings for food and drink.
The Old Karooplaas offerswith Prima Pizza, Sterreland movie house, De Plaaswerf coffee shop and more.
Ladies are spoiled at the Oewer Spa for a therapeutic experience without measure.

Terms & Conditions
- The property (you) must offer the 15% saving to all verified members
- Verification is done automatically at the time of an enquiry. It is at the property’s discretion whether to offer the saving for a telephonic enquiry. (As you have no means to verify the membership number, it is advisable to get them to do a formal enquiry so they can be verified).
- If the property is currently running a "Special" greater than 15% then the "Special" price will apply. (No further savings needs to be offered). EXCEPT in the case where the "Special" is lower than 15%. In that case the 15% will apply.
Example: A property offering a 10% discount, must offer an additional 5% discount to valid members - so they get a total 15% saving. - The property must offer valid members the saving all year round. (Properties that pick and chose in which seasons to participate run the risk of being removed from the programme completely. Allowing selective participation defeats the integrity of this initiative).
- The property must not inflate the price before the 15% is applied. Prices displayed should be the rack rate. (The official or advertised price of a room).
- The property must honour any bookings made while the property was participating as a $elect Stays property.
- The property must honour the agreement and the spirit in which the initiative is designed to benefit local tourism.
